Love Languages at home

My girls depend strongly on "Quality Time" for their well being. I have recently found that by giving them all the cosy mommy moments(up to 5mins each child) during the day, they are very happy to be independant long enough for me to "do my own thing".

Often quality time does not have to come from one source. With plenty of sunshine, water play equiptment and Aunties/Uncles willing to be there, my girls had a complete ball of a time for a couple of hours. They were in bed, happy but exhausted by 7.30pm! I then had quality SLEEP after that too! Thanks R & C for a lovely day at the British Club!

Touchpoints of Love

Week 3 of "Growing Kids God's Way"
At GKGW today, we were reminded that "Every day we choose to love, and every day we choose NOT to love". We were given the basic vehicle to know "how" to love effectively and making sure that it "works". GKGW introduced the 5 love languages based on the famous book "5 love languages by Dr Gary Chapman". Great Stuff! The 5 love languages spoken were:
1) Words of Encouragement
2) Acts of service
3) Gift giving
4) Quality Time
5) Physical touch & closeness

After 3 rounds of GKGW, I can still see that my love language stands a mile away from Alex's. I am a "acts of service"/gift giving person while he's vey much a "Words of encouragement"/"Physical touch/closeness" person. Letitia is looming with a little bit of "direction" when I slowly observe where Mathena is still "All of the above, please!"

Now, the reality is to take these lessons and apply to real life and CHOOSE to LOVE!!

On a separate note: Alex and I successfully (but struggled) experience "Cyber-couchtime" last week. The effort is still weak but the spirit is STRONG. The force is with us and we actually enjoyed the time on video cam. Thank GOD for technology!!
