Letitia's Grade 1 Exam

On return from our Kuching trip, the highlight and excitement of our family was getting Letitia ready for her Grade 1 Ballet exam. She had to take a 'private' lesson to allow her to catch up and refine her moves.. here are some pics.

We could not resist but to call this the "toothless" team (as they were all popping milk teeth)

Kuching,...more shots!

Mom and 'Snowy'~the queen dog of the house. Took her 2 weeks to settle down with my girls. Fluff producer No 1 and boy, my runny nose acted up!

Girls had a lovely time with Kong-Kong. Their relationship grews leaps and Kong-kong had many fond memories of them to keep. It was pure work of Kong-Ki to have us there as it cause a major disruption to his otherwise plain and simple retirement life. Thanks, papa!
What is CNY without the dress ups and visitations? This is the girls chinese outfits compliments from the tasteful Aunty Audrey. Taken with 2nd grand-uncle and grand Aunty from mom's side. We knew them from Australia/Canberra as we've visited them before.
Highlight! We visited the Croc farm, 18.5 miles away from Kuching. Quite basic but overall a lovely morning as we had KFC lunch later!

My mom had a close friend from church that ran an all new, creative art school. They girls attended 3 lessons and had a whoop of a time. Thanks Greg and Sim Nee! See blog

5 Weeks in KUCHING

Been home for 4 days now and have not nearly settled in. The bags are all unpacked but somehow, the kids managed to create more work per day than I can tidy up (hmmm, my teaching skills are failing me?!?)

I looked back at my blog records and realised that I dissapeared for a whole 2 mos. Very weird sight. I spent the most of January, sorting the girl's school and extra activities for the year in preparation for our HUGE trip away in Feb. Then we went, we had a TONG-TONG-CHIANG Chinese New Year, stayed till Monday the 3rd. Here are some pics!

No visit to Kuching is complete without the early morning bowl of Sarawakian laksa. This dish is well known world wide now and in KCH, it used to be RM1.70 per bowl when I was a teenager. This one here is the medium size bowl of RM5. Perfect to the taste buds but dramatic to the tummy (a few hours later)

If you are wondering why I am starting this entry with food,....Malaysia is ALL about food. Since I am a big fan of iced tea, I discovered this "Teh-C-Peng SPECIAL" with blended wheat grass down the bottom and sweeten with gula Santan/Melaka. Yummy!!

We returned to our favourite family resort and the girls had 3 days of rain, rain and rain. We met new friends and also managed to get some pool time and sand time in. Very relaxing and of course, ate up as much seafood by the sea as we could possibly fit.

With dogs running around the house, the girls were instructed to wear indoor slippers, we hook them up on the way out. This kept them off the floor and prevented tripping at the doorway. Letitia was our No 1 slipper wearer as she refused to touch the floor with bare feet while Mathena is often without them (not even sure where here slippers went!)

Mom's house was CROWDED! In fact they had 4 bedrooms and a study. One room was rented out to a friend while we took up 2 other rooms. The girls had their own little a/c paradise where they spent most of the time reading, playing and hiding from the mosquitoes.

Happy 7th Letitia

2nd March 2008, Sunday
While in Kuching, we celebrated Letitia's 7th birthday. We had a simple indulgent afternoon and early dinner of McDonald's. Aunty Audrey ordered this fantastic super girlie birthday cake with amazing mango and blueberry layered sponge cake, yummm!

Letitia is now our young lady. A lovely person who loves nothing else but to spend hours devouring books and drawing. She's excelling in her ballet steps and adores being a friend to other young ladies her age. God Bless you my precious one! Seven years ago, you came out around 5.40pm in Wesley Hospital, Auchenflower, Brisbane.
