As I emerged from the underground MRT station, I noticed several people standing by the roadside pointing their mobile phones at the sky. Looked like they were taking photos of something, but I looked up and saw nothing.
Further along, I saw more people taking photos, and this time I saw it - it was a rainbow.
All the way home I came across people taking photos of the rainbow with their phones. To me, the interesting thing was not the rainbow but the fact that literally everybody now has a camera built into their phone and can capture moments wherever they are. Technology is amazing isn't it?
Not long after I arrived home, I heard one of the neighbour's children calling out to her sibling to come see the rainbow.
"What's the big deal with the rainbow?!" I thought to myself. Why the fuss and fascination?
But the very thing that I failed to see opened my eyes... I have taken for granted the beautiful wonder that God created. For a moment, I had lost the joy of the simple things in life. (Simple in the sense that it's natural and unadulterated, uncomplicated by man.)
Furthermore, the rainbow is a promise from God (Gen 9:12-17). Now that is true joy indeed!
We often take things for granted - whether it's the sophisticated technology that enriches our lives, or the blessings and promises from our God that sustains our lives. The difference is, one is eternal and the other isn't...
Moments later, the rest of my family arrived home. "Daddy! Did you see that rainbow?"
"Yes, I did, sweetie. Yes, I did."

After about 6 years in Singapore. We have packed up our memories and entered a not so booming yet exciting new country. Until we get our driver's license, we will not be New Yorkers but alas, this place can grow on you. All 5 of us, an unlikely yet loving couple, a 6th grader encyclopedia, a 4th grader who knows it all and a dare devil toddler. This is our life, our journal, our journey.

Mommy's Art Lesson
After months of oil pastel colouring and drawings with an independant art teacher, our group of preschool kids plus 2 moms decided to come out and do our own thing. We started a Friday afternoon art class with 2 kids in tow. We rotate teaching roles as well as homes and only use $ when we need to. This is what we've been up to.

WE are LOVED!
There seems to be a new TREND for Valentines Day. We've had friends who takes in turns as parents, 'dating' their kids on V-day to remind them how much they are loved. Our church friend dated her son at McDonalds in Changi airport with sky train inclusive while her husband dated their daughter in Swensens!
We did similar...
...accept I forgot bring our camera..
...we went to SWENSENS (coincidence) to celebrate we 'LOVE EACH OTHER' day. We topped off our dinner with yummy ice cream. We've since learnt to go to restaurants EARLY to avoid the crowd and by 7.30pm, we are home and ready for a nice rest!
These flowers are my PRIDE and JOY. I went to the wholesale flower market and bought these, wrapped them up and decorated them for a friend of mine who just had a baby. This year the flowers were OVERPRICED and though meaningful, I am quite contented with the other flowers I have been receiving over the year... I am grateful that I am LOVED...at least by 3 people and GOD!
