Alas! An update from the city that NEVER sleeps....yep, even if you want to and is dead tired!
We overcame jetlag in a quick 3days. The girls bounced back pretty much immediately as they had plenty of sleep on the plane. Little guy took a whole week to get his 'routine' americanized.
We have since eaten the famous 'Halal Boys' kebabs, of course McD's breakfast, AppleBees, lots of chinese takeaways, a couple of lunches in 'fusion-like' restaurants that I cannot remember. We've walked up and down midtown Manhattan and of course checked out Fifth Avenue. We've taken a train and stood amazed at Grand Central Station, we've said hello to Central Park and just over the weekend, visited the Natural History Museum with much joy. Taxi rides are as common and convenient as Singapore and I am less and less fearful in taking the kids places with them.
We will be moving to our permanent rental home by the end of April and we are all waiting to be settled real soon. Settled with an area we can be comfortable with and hopefully a school system the kids can be happy with. Keep in touch!
After about 6 years in Singapore. We have packed up our memories and entered a not so booming yet exciting new country. Until we get our driver's license, we will not be New Yorkers but alas, this place can grow on you. All 5 of us, an unlikely yet loving couple, a 6th grader encyclopedia, a 4th grader who knows it all and a dare devil toddler. This is our life, our journal, our journey.
