The JOYS of homeschooling!
With much consideration and at the end of our curriculum, I have declared 'Aussie-winter' break for the next 2 weeks!
We've had a whole series of visitors including our techno savvy cousin from Kuching, my old school friend (Jacq) and her family, Alex's parents, our favourite Aunty A from Kuching. I also have another close family friend here in Singapore wanting to spend time with us as they to have little kiddies. Alex parents are still with us and towards the end of their stay, it's better that we are free to take them places and do touristy things etc. I have also received Letitia's books for the next term....heaps of prep work for me ahead! But exciting as we are READY to move on...
The latest is: Mathena has been enrolled to a local Preschool. It's BIG business here for preschools so as long as there's a position and we are happy to PAY, we can get in. It's the Primary systems that we struggle (jumps hoops and loops) to get in. As Letitia has had a couple of years of preschool in Australia and here, Mathena has been DYING to 'go to school'!! This is her share in experience and we have FULL intention to 'supplement' with our homeschooling so that when it comes to the end of Kindy, we can continue with homeschooling. Hooray!
Will spend the next few days 'prepping' her. My baby is growing up! She's keen, her uniform's ready, bag and lunch box cleaned out etc. Photos will follow (if I managed to remember in all the excitement)...
After about 6 years in Singapore. We have packed up our memories and entered a not so booming yet exciting new country. Until we get our driver's license, we will not be New Yorkers but alas, this place can grow on you. All 5 of us, an unlikely yet loving couple, a 6th grader encyclopedia, a 4th grader who knows it all and a dare devil toddler. This is our life, our journal, our journey.
