Mathena stepped into the doors of Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School yesterday. 4th Jan 2010. She missed out on the orientation the year before hence this is a NEW experience for her. Mathena is our trooper and our brave little girl. Even the teacher (at the end of the day) was attracted by her smile and ooomph! She's been in and out of this school many times as Letitia goes there as well so it is not entirely a new place to her. But the uniforms, the shoes, the bags, the classroom, the teachers etc is an exciting event! We celebrate her, her milestone, her life and of course, we can't help but THANK GOD for the entire experience.

Mathena seemed fine when I visited her during her recess. She was assigned a nice 'little' buddy,
the same statue as her during this season of maybe 2 weeks. This Primary 2 child has the role
of befriending her, showing her arounds school, help her with getting food or drinks on top of being a company. It's amazing how after seeing LETITIA on both ends of the programme, the little ones step up to their roles and mature in the click of their finger. There were parents of primary 2 kids who remained in school for the sole reason that they are worried their little ones don't know how to 'buddy' etc. Many went back surprised at their own kids..

Enjoying her packed sandwich by mommy. She turned around just so I could snap a picture.

Back to recess...eating...30mins of NOT MUCH PLAYING involved here. This will not be the case in Australia. It'll be 15 mins eating, then 30mins of FREE play.

Lining up with the day's worth of load to get into the hall for 'devotions and quiet reading'. The blue bags are their art folio which is left in the school closets.

Spot the cheeky grin!

Daddy came out to send her off. She was thrilled to see him!

All dressed up and READY to go..

KOLO MEE lunch (a Kuching favourite) as a send off.
