I am curious...in Singapore, this is the standard (assume high) of what
is expected from a Primary 3 (age 9) child. Can you guys (Australia,
Malaysia, UK, US etc) all have a look at what the 9yo kids are doing in
your side of town and tell me how we fair.....I personally think this is
'Shakespeare'!
"The sun shone brilliantly in the blue sky that was dotted with white
fluffy clouds. The barking of dogs and the laughter of children greeted
me as as I stepped onto the soft, sandy beach. Tall, swaying palm trees
lined along the shore. A nearby ice-cream selling was selling delicious
creamy ice cream to cool the holidaymakers. My spirits was immediately
lifted by the thoughts of a wonderful day ahead."
(emphasis mine, am impressed at those expressions!)
No offence to the teachers (esp Letitia's teacher) but I do think that the
above paragraph is beyond even MY ability to 'dream' up. I am not
able to test out what Letitia can dream up but she has and can do the
above, I truly salute the MOE system, if not, I am not too worried... I think
this is HIGH standards! Wow!
Waiting to hear from ALL of you...what are your kids writing at age 9?
