Since last Friday when Alex signed and seal our lives to 5-7 years in Singapore, We have been going like a "boeing747" non-stop!!
We've since set up a separate blog to list all the BIG items of our household to "prefered" buyers. This will allow us to ask the stuff to be left in our homes until we fly off or at least move out to a self contained apartment. We been pretty happy with the response and very blessed with all our friends helping us clear our stuff. We made them real BARGAINs that noone can really resist...and it worked. Please see: Our Sale Blog.
We've had one removalist company come in and assess our bulk of things to fly and ship. We've had the paperwork and visa stuff sent out. We've made zillions of phonecalls to sort out and plan for our change of situation. Banks, schools, bills etc.
My ankle is still taking a long time to recover and I am often limping around after a wrong footing or a big day on my feet. Have been told by my Dr to keep my feet elevated, yeah right!!!
My mom is fine, a GOD sent and so patient with us. The girls are feeling the mess and insecurity with all the changes. I have told them in exchange to selling all their baby-bikes, they will get a new one soon! So far, no tantrums!! We plan to lay is all on Letitia the next week or so, so as she can have time to talk and own the event. My mom has put up with the "disciplines" and the no-nonsense attitude with the kids yet she's now loving the two girls more and more.
We'll be having the CHAN grandsparents here for about 10 days with one weekend in the middle. It'll be nice for the girls to see them though they might not be much talking involved. more people here to help distract Mathena while I head down bum up to sort and pack.
Our garage sale (real one) will have to be canceled. It's been bucketing these few days and it looks like another wet and freezing weekend. We've had 8-10 degs in the wet and wind, brrrr!
So, here's an update. I plan to be in bed by 10pm tonight, it's not 10.46pm! Yawwwnn!
After about 6 years in Singapore. We have packed up our memories and entered a not so booming yet exciting new country. Until we get our driver's license, we will not be New Yorkers but alas, this place can grow on you. All 5 of us, an unlikely yet loving couple, a 6th grader encyclopedia, a 4th grader who knows it all and a dare devil toddler. This is our life, our journal, our journey.
