When we first heard of the tragic death of Steve Irwin, we were shocked. Being the last to check the news as we hardly have the tv on, my news came from Malaysia when my dad rang to inform me. We decided to keep the news from the kids as we were not sure if they would understand.
Today, as I was doing my emails, I opened a song written by Colin Buchanan in tribute to the Crocodile Hunter and Letitia overheard. She soon found out the whole detail and we sat and sobbed out hearts out. Letitia was thinking of how it happened, why it happened and how come the Stingray was so nasty? She was also thinking of the family (2 kids her age) and how they will feel loosing their daddy. Her tears were so tender and sympathetic. Bless her!
Mathena just kept bringing us tissues.
We later prayed and ask GOD to give comfort and direction to this amazing personality and Australian ICON. Yes, we love his antics and his love for the wildlife and yes, we are VERY proud of him.

Hi Sarah,
Terence Chia here. I take it that you're the one writing all these entries. :)
Steve's unfortunate death really shows how fragile life is, and who really hold our breath in His hands.
Bring stung by a stingray (ie. the fish that we eat in SG) which is normally a docile creature, and given that Steve is a wildlife expert. (even with simple creatures) shows that it only takes a flick of a switch and we pass on to eternal life. :)
Hi Terence,
Nice to know that you read my blog. Yeah! Life is pretty precious in that sense. That's the same reason I am at home, taking in and nurturing as much "Kingdom Values" into my kids as possible. God Bless! Yes, I am the main author of this blog.
Dear Boy,
It's things and events like these that I am grateful that I have FULL control over the tv at home. My girls are only starting to be "exposed" to commercial tv now and it's VERY difficult to even monitot their 1 hour a day. I have no idea why adult Ads are in kids channels!
These personalities have lived very FULL lives. I remind my girls that it's the good things that they have done that we thank GOD for. Not just the tragedy that we dwell in.
Thanks for keeping in touch.
